Hamilton Southeastern came back from an early deficit to run away with a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game over Brownsburg on Tuesday at home.
The Class 4A No. 5 Royals won 74-63. The Bulldogs led 17-7 after one quarter, but Southeastern roared back with 26 points in the second period, cutting Brownsburg’s lead to 37-33 by halftime. The Bulldogs inched ahead 53-47 after three quarters, but it was all Royals in the fourth quarter, where they outscored Brownsburg 27-10.
Four Southeastern players reached double figures, led by Riley Makalusky’s 23 points. Kennedy Holman added 13 points. Olivia Brown was outstanding with 12 points, six steals and four assists, while Maya Makalusky scored 11 points and led the rebounds with six.
The Royals are 2-0 in conference play and still unbeaten for the season at 7-0. Southeastern travels to Carmel on Friday for an afternoon game.
