Royals nearly come back against Louisville Trinity

Hamilton Southeastern almost made a huge comeback against Louisville Trinity Thursday in its second game at the Super Preps tournament before falling 6-4.
The Class 4A No. 7 Royals were down 6-0 going into the top of the seventh inning. Anthony Eggers began the inning by hitting a triple, then Cole DeWael drew a walk. Eggers then scored on a wild pitch to get HSE on the board, with DeWael moving to second.
Cam Bolling then got on base; he ran to first on a dropped third strike that also got DeWael to third base. That brought Greyson Droste up to the plate, and he hit a home run to score everyone. Southeastern loaded the bases with one out, but Trinity made two catches to get the final outs and finish the game.
The Royals dropped to 2-3 with the loss. They will continue play at the Super Preps today, taking on Morgan Park (Ill.) at 3 p.m. at South Oldham.
