Royals edged out by Zionsville in HCC play

Hamilton Southeastern hosted the Hoosier Crossroads Conference boys tennis tournament, which took place last Saturday.

Zionsville won the team championship, edging out the Royals by one point, 37-36. Fishers finished a close third, scoring 33 points.

Southeastern was boosted by three runner-up finishes, including a win at No. 2 singles by Paul Schneider. Rohan Golla placed second at No. 2 singles, while the Royals’ No. 1 doubles team of Abhi Chaddha and Nolan Houseman was the runner-up at No. 1 doubles. All four players were named to the All-HCC team at the conclusion of the meet.

The Tigers were winners in two flights. Reese Knoderer claimed the No. 1 singles division, while Aidan Foley was the champion at No. 3 singles. Both players were named to the All-HCC team. They were joined in All-HCC honors by Matthew Kordesh, who was the runner-up at No. 2 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Thomas Bender and Jack Butler, who placed third in that flight.

Westfield placed fifth as a team with 20 points, while Noblesville took seventh with 14 points.
