Hamilton Southeastern’s girls clinched an undefeated Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship on Friday, sailing past Zionsville 67-33 in an away game.
The Class 4A No. 1 Royals started off strongly, leading 22-7 after one quarter. Southeastern led 31-12 at halftime, then barreled through the third period, outscoring the Eagles 28-9 for a 59-21 lead.
“We did a great job of moving the ball on offense,” said HSE coach Brian Satterfield. “We dished out 21 assists on 23 made field goals.”
The Royals made 16 3-pointers during the game, a new school record. Maya Makalusky drained six triples on her way to 27 points. Kayla Stidham hit four 3s while scoring 12 points. Kennedy Holman made three 3s and reached double-double status with 15 points and 11 assists. Stidham led the rebounds with five.
Southeastern finished conference play 7-0. The Royals are 20-0 overall and play tonight at Center Grove.
