Hamilton Southeastern took control in the game’s middle quarters, and beat Carmel 72-51 in a Friday night game at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Royals led 11-9 after the first quarter, then jumped out to a 33-20 advantage at halftime. Southeastern led 53-32 after three periods.
Zach Gunn scored 27 points, and with that performance became HSE’s all-time leading scorers, surpassing Gary Harris. Gunn also pulled nine rebounds. Conner Rotterman added 16 points and seven rebounds, with Chaz Birchfield grabbing six boards. Jack Davidson and Noah Smith both dished out four assists.
Carmel stats were not reported by press time.
The Greyhounds play at Fort Wayne Carroll tonight, with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The Royals are 17-4, and host Pike on Tuesday.
