The Hamilton Southeastern boys golf team won the Sultan’s Run Spring Showcase last Saturday.
The No. 1-ranked Royals held off Westfield 297-299 to claim the trophy. Mattingly Upchurch led Southeastern with a 72, placing him fourth individually. Nate Benson scored 73 to tie for fifth place. Jordan Huxford and Kai Warner both carded 76s. Vijeet Akala scored 90.
The Shamrocks’ Jake Cesare was the meet medalist with a four-under par 68. Will Harvey was next with 75 and Ryan Cesare scored 77. Clark Schwartz totaled 79 and Mitchell Keene scored 84.

Guerin Catholic finished second at the Highland Invitational last Saturday.
The Golden Eagles scored 316; Zionsville won the team title with 307. Guerin Catholic’s Leo Wessel placed second individually with 72, while Will Parenteau tied for fourth with 77. Other GC scores were Connor Trice 82, Patrick Wolf 85 and Owen Nielsen 85.
Carmel competed at Highland, carding a 331. Noah Husk led the Greyhounds with 81, followed by Ethan Hoagland 82, Ocean Permana 83, Dillon Walworth 85 and Mason Price 87.

Guerin Catholic and Westfield both sent teams to the Lake Central Invitational last Saturday at Sandy Pines.
The Shamrocks took third place with a team score of 321. Hudson Kutchman led Westfield with 79, followed by Jack Harris 80, Braden Worthington 80, Cooper Bohn 82 and Cohen Steill 89.
The Golden Eagles scored 324, placing them fifth as a team. Gabe Berglund led Guerin Catholic with 78, followed by Eli Wessel 79, Robbie Burt 80, Brady Wagner 87 and Johnny Quinn 87.

Sheridan won a three-team meet with Clinton Prairie and Western Boone Monday at Deer Track Golf Club in Frankfort.
The Blackhawks totaled 188. Erich Retz was the meet medalist with a personal-best score of 43. Nathan Hinshaw took second with 44. Tyler Garner scored 49, Parker Williams carded 52, and Zach Phillips and Rylan Garner both totaled 57.
