Roger Dale Greathouse, 66, passed away at his home in Sheridan on Sunday morning, March 24, 2019. Born May 21, 1952 in Sheridan, he was the son of the late Charles F. “Chod” and Mary Elizabeth (Prindle) Greathouse.
Roger liked being outdoors and for many years enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside his dad, doing well work and lawn care around the area. He also enjoyed his daily walks to town to visit with everybody up at the fire barn and the grain elevator. From a young age Roger had an interest in trains, and over the years enjoyed collecting train memorabilia and adding to his model train set.
He was a member of the Sheridan Wesleyan Church.
Roger is survived by his brother, Gerald Greathouse, Sheridan; two sisters, Nora Dellingner, Whitestown, and Sarah Johns (Irvin), Sheridan; his nieces and nephews, Brian Dellingner, Sheridan, Stacey Tock (Paul), Lebanon, Jeff Johns, Sheridan, Bradley Johns, Sheridan, Torrie Greathouse, Fredericksburg, Va., and Tylah Greathouse, Sheridan; several great nieces and nephews; two great-great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins. Roger is also survived by his dachshund, Skylar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Greathouse.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Spicewood Cemetery in Sheridan. Pastor George Cooper will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the National Kidney Foundation.
