Rocks win HCC gymnastics meet, Millers place second

The Westfield gymnastics team won the Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet on Tuesday.

The Shamrocks scored a season-high total of 101.475 points. Senior Isa Galan led Westfield by placing second in the all-around with a score of 33.875 points.

Noblesville finished second at the HCC meet with a season-high score of 99.475 points. The Millers improved their previous season best by over four points.

Valorey Bittles finished first on the uneven bars with a score of 8.85, while Hailey Nobbe won the balance beam by scoring 8.95. Both were named to the all-conference team. Bittles also placed second on the floor exercise (8.75), seventh on the beam (7.875) and was third in the all-around standings (33.675).

Emmerson Leckrone placed second on bars (8.475), giving the Millers a 1-2-3 finish in that event. Leckrone was also seventh on the vault (8.30) and totaled 32.30 in the all-around for sixth place. McKenna Watson placed third on the vault (8.55). She totaled 29.175 for the all-around.

Last Saturday, Noblesville competed at the Connersville Invitational, placing sixth as a team with a score of 95.85 points.

Bittles had the highest place and score for the Millers, finishing fourth on the floor with a 9.25. Bittles also finished eighth in the all-around competition. Watson was fifth on the vault, scoring 8.75.

All-around scores: 8. Valorey Bittles 33.425, McKenna Watson 29.425, Ethan Rivers 28.925.

Vault: 5. Watson 8.75, Bittles 8.45, Lydia Blackwell 7.95, Rivers 7.75, Alexis Mitcham 7.30.

Uneven bars: Bittles 8.125, Hailey Nobbe 7.60, Rivers 6.525, Watson 5.575, Blackwell 5.125.

Balance beam: Nobbe 8.325, Bittles 7.60, Watson 7.25, Lilly Martin 6.65, Rivers 6.475.

Floor exercise: 4. Bittles 9.25, Rivers 8.175, Watson 7.85, Blackwell 7.375, Mitcham 7.125.
