Westfield won a big game on Saturday, defeating previously undefeated and Class 2A No. 2 Tipton 60-52 at the Blue Devils’ gym.
The Shamrocks took the lead early, going ahead 18-7 after the first quarter. Westfield maintained that lead at halftime, 30-19, and stayed in front in the second half.
Caleb Welch had a solid game, scoring 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and handing out four assists. Zach Banks threw in four 3s on his way to 14 points, while Braden Smith also scored 14. Jaret Bailey pulled four rebounds.
The Shamrocks are 4-2 and host Frankton on Saturday at part of a girl-boy doubleheader.
