The Westfield basketball teams were swept by Brownsburg Friday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference doubleheader at CSI Gymnasium.
The Shamrocks girls fell in a close game, 41-38. The Bulldogs led 11-5 after one quarter, but Westfield came back to tie at 19-19 by halftime. The ‘Rocks then went up 28-27 after three periods, but Brownsburg took control in the fourth by outscoring Westfield 14-10.
Ellie Kelleher and Emmrey Collinsworth both scored nine points, with Kelleher and Aubrey Crockett both collecting four rebounds. Kelleher also had four assists, while Aubrey Crockett blocked three shots.
In the boys game, Brownsburg won 62-51. The Bulldogs led 15-11 after one quarter and 34-24 at halftime.
Three players reached double figures for Westfield. Alex Romack scored 15 points, while Trey Buchanan added 14 points. Charles Farrell scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
Next games
The Shamrocks girls finished conference play 2-5 and are 12-9 overall. They host Ben Davis Tuesday in their regular-season finale.
Westfield’s boys are 2-2 in the HCC and 9-3 overall. The ‘Rocks host Tri-West tonight.
