‘Rocks stun New Pal, stay unbeaten

Westfield finished strong in its game at New Palestine Saturday night, using a big run at the end of the fourth quarter to stun the Dragons 75-52.
The Shamrocks also started the game strong, leading 16-7 after the first quarter. Westfield held a 31-24 lead at halftime, then pushed it up to 10 points, 42-32, by the end of the third period. New Palestine made a late push to cut the Shamrocks’ lead to four points with four minutes remaining, but Westfield finished the game on an 18-9 run, totaling 33 points in the fourth period.
Braden Smith scored 23 points for the ‘Rocks, and also handed out nine assists and pulled five rebounds. Nic Depasquale delivered another 21 points and had five rebounds, while Cam Haffner made three 3-pointers on his way to 15 points and also collected six rebounds. Camden Simons led the Westfield rebounding with eight.
The Shamrocks are still undefeated at 4-0 and travel to Noblesville on Friday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
