Westfield cruised past Pike 19-7 in a Friday away game.
The Shamrocks scored at least two runs in each of the five innings, including five in the first and six in the fifth. Six different Westfield players hit a double during the game, starting with Ashley Swartout: Her first-inning double scored Reghan Oland and Regan Nickel, then Corinne Molter smacked a double to send Swartout home.
Georgia Haffley’s second-inning double got Oland home. In the fourth inning, Brooklyn Carey sent Avery Wagner and Caroline Maymon home with a double, then Oland sent Carey home with her two-base hit. Sara Harmeyer got Westfield’s sixth double of the game in the fifth inning; she would eventually score on a Wagner single.
Molter finished the game with four RBIs, while Oland was 3-for-3 at the plate and scored four runs. Nickel, Molter and Carey all had two hits, with Carey scoring three runs. Nickel, Swartout, Haffley, Emily Revercomb and Carey each drove in two runs.
Rebekah Davidson pitched all five innings, striking out seven.
The ‘Rocks are 5-8 and host Lawrence North on Monday.
