Westfield won its sixth straight game on Tuesday, beating Springboro (Ohio) 55-51 at the Paul Loggan Memorial Invitational at North Central.
The Shamrocks jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter, but Springboro came back, cutting Westfield’s lead to 28-24 by halftime. The ‘Rocks were up 39-37 after three quarters, then held on in the fourth to secure the win.
Alyssa Crockett scored 14 points and collected six rebounds, while Chesney Tebbe had 13 points and five rebounds.
Westfield is now 9-3 for the season and returns to North Central this afternoon for its second game at the tournament. The ‘Rocks will play Silver Creek, the No. 1 team in Class 3A.
