Westfield’s boys won an all-county and Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Hamilton Southeastern 62-36 on Friday.
The Royals led 11-12 after one quarter, but the Shamrocks came back to lead 28-20 at halftime. Westfield pushed its advantage to 41-31 after three periods, then took over in the fourth quarter, outscoring Southeastern 21-5.
Four Shamrocks players reached double figures, led by Drew Haffner’s 14 points. Durante Morton scored 13 points, followed by Brock Detamore with 12 and Will Harvey with 10. Jalen Malone led the rebounds with six, followed by Detamore, Rylan Rauch and Morton with five each. Malone also dished out four assists. The ‘Rocks were perfect from the free-throw line, making 13 of 13.
Maverick Young scored 10 points for the Royals, with Lucas Weemer pulling seven rebounds. Landon Osswald had five rebounds.
Westfield is 2-1 in HCC play and 9-1 overall. The ‘Rocks host Yorktown Tuesday in a make-up game. Southeastern is 0-3 in the conference and 8-6 overall. The Royals play at Anderson tonight.
