Westfield dropped a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Avon Friday, 55-39.
The Class 4A No. 3 Shamrocks led 14-12 after one quarter. Will Harvey scored seven points in the first and Durante Morton added six points. But the 4A No. 9 Orioles took control in the second period, outscoring Westfield 10-3 for a 22-17 halftime lead. Avon then led 36-25 after three quarters and finished the game with 19 points in the fourth.
Morton scored 10 points to lead the ‘Rocks.
Westfield is 3-2 in HCC play and 12-2 overall. The Shamrocks host Fishers Thursday in another HCC contest.
