Westfield improved to 2-1 Tuesday after winning a hard-fought game over Lawrence Central 48-44 at The Rock.
The Bearcats led 24-22 at halftime, but the Shamrocks took the lead late in the fourth quarter and held on to pull out the victory. Jade Shipley scored 11 points and handed out six assists to lead Westfield. Sophia Kreag added 10 points and grabbed six rebounds. Karley Wininger scored eight points. Shipley and Gigi Eldredge each had five rebounds.
The ‘Rocks travel to New Castle on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
