The Westfield boys basketball team traveled to Marion last Saturday and came home with a 74-49 victory.
The Shamrocks outscored the Giants in each of the four quarters, leading 19-13 after one. Durante Morton scored nine points in the first period, then added six more in the second as Westfield held a 37-22 lead at halftime.
The ‘Rocks poured in 21 more points in the third quarter for a 58-34 lead, with six different Westfield players scoring at least three points. The Shamrocks finished the game with 16 fourth-quarter points.
Morton totaled 18 points, while Drew Haffner and Brock Detamore both scored 12 points.
Westfield improved to 7-1 and plays three games this week. The ‘Rocks travel to Mount Vernon Tuesday, host Yorktown on Friday then play Saturday at Carmel.
