The Westfield girls basketball team pulled away from Franklin Central in the fourth quarter on Tuesday, and that led to a 49-44 Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory for the Shamrocks at CSI Gymnasium.
Westfield led 9-8 after the first quarter. The Flashes took the lead by halftime, up 17-16, then extended that advantage to 35-31 after three periods. But the Rocks came back in the fourth quarter, outscoring Franklin Central 18-9.
Ellie Kelleher scored 16 points for Westfield, with Lindsey Van Dyke adding 14 points. Aubrey Crockett made three 3-pointers on her way to 11 points and led the rebounds with seven. Kelleher collected five rebounds.
The Shamrocks are 2-3 in HCC play and 7-6 overall. Westfield competes in the Twin Lakes Tournament next week; its first game is 6 p.m. next Tuesday (Dec. 27) against Kankakee Valley.
