Robert F. Jackson M.D.

May 27, 1938 – April 15, 2025

Robert F. Jackson M.D. passed away April 15, 2025. He was born May 27, 1938, to Kinner F. and Lahoma R. (Jimison) Jackson in McConnell, W.V.

Bob graduated from East Detroit High School in 1956. He graduated from Taylor University Upland, Ind., in 1961 and went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1966. Following his general surgery residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran.

Bob began a successful surgical practice in Marion, Ind., and subsequently in Noblesville, where he brought many innovations over 50-plus years of practice. His passion was surgery, especially teaching his craft to countless students, residents and over 20 fellows. He was a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Bob was also the past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He served on many boards and committees including the AMA board.

The most important things in his life were his faith, family, and his profession in that order. Bob loved leading groups on short term Medical missions. He helped start Lakeview Christian School in Marion, and was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church, Marion, Ind. He enjoyed attending North Webster Church of God in recent years. He was team physician for Taylor University for over 30 years and was inducted in the University Athletic Hall of Fame.

He loved being at his home on Lake Webster in North Webster, Ind., so much that after retiring they moved to live there permanently.

His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. If any family members were involved in an event, Bumpy (as the grandkids called him) was there.

Bob married Margaret F. Tatem on April 3, 1959; she survives. He is survived by children, Robert F. (Tracy) Jackson D.O., Thomas L. Jackson M.D., and Susan E. (Tim) Bill; grandchildren, Lindsay (Caleb) Zehr, Benjamin Jackson, Trevor Hiles, Courtney Hiles, Samuel Jackson, Delaney (Mason) Pohlman, Jackson Bill, Luke Bill, and Logan Bill; and great-grandchildren, Cabe, Harper, and Finley Zehr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Randall and Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Rd., Fishers. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday April 26, 2025, with funeral service to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the scholarship fund of Taylor University, Upland, Ind. (taylor.edu/give2scholarships)
