Robert Alan Dudgeon

July 23, 1937 – August 17, 2018

Robert Alan Dudgeon, 81, Noblesville, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born on July 23, 1937 to Rev. William O. and Vera (Miller) Dudgeon in Anderson.

Robert was raised in Lansdale, Pa., and graduated there in 1955 from North Penn High School. He proudly served his country as a jet mechanic in the United States Air Force, stationed three years in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, Robert received a bachelor’s degree from Anderson College with a major in sociology and a minor in psychology.

He worked for Guide Lamp in Anderson, as Prairie Valley District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, and in sales for Paul Goeke, Inc. and McMahon Food Company (later Kraft Food Company).

Robert was a member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church and volunteered for over 12,000 hours at Riverview Hospital. He loved cars and motorcycles, and enjoyed TV shows related to cars (auctions and restoration). Robert also enjoyed watching sports on TV, particularly football and basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Couden Dudgeon, whom he married on November 23, 1966 in Atlanta; son, Jason (Dawn) Dudgeon; daughter, Megan (David) Mundy; four grandchildren, Jacob Dudgeon, Samuel Dudgeon, Makenna Mundy and Mason Mundy; and his brother, Rev. David Dudgeon.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, Nancy Hemmerle, Elizabeth Fluck and William Dudgeon.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
