Riverview Health joins with KLR Medical Certification Training School in first direct primary care agreement

Riverview Health announced on Thursday the signing of its first Direct Primary Care agreement with KLR Medical Certification Training School. Effective March 1, 2025, KLR employees have access to comprehensive primary care services at Riverview Health’s Employer Health Centers located in Noblesville and Westfield.

This agreement marks a significant milestone for Riverview Health, demonstrating its commitment to providing accessible and cost-effective healthcare solutions to the growing business community in Hamilton County.

“We are thrilled to partner with KLR Medical Certification Training School and provide their employees with high-quality, personalized primary care,” said Dustin Mikesell, Riverview Health Associate Vice President of Employer Partnerships. “This agreement underscores our dedication to supporting local businesses by offering innovative healthcare options that meet their unique needs.”

The partnership between Riverview Health and KLR builds upon an existing strong relationship. KLR, which partners with The Pursuit Institute and Hamilton County High Schools to offer dual-track pathways for medical certification training, has collaborated with Riverview Health for several years, providing clinical placement opportunities for its students.

KLR Founder and CEO Katie Reigelsperger recognized the alignment between KLR’s growth and Riverview Health’s patient-centered culture. While initial discussions centered on Riverview’s Sapphire insurance product, the diverse geographical location of KLR employees necessitated a more flexible solution. The Direct Primary Care model proved to be an ideal fit, offering comprehensive primary care at a predictable cost.

“We have been impressed by the partnership we have built with Riverview Health and are excited to provide this excellent healthcare option for our employees,” Reigelsperger said. “The Direct Primary Care model allows us to offer valuable healthcare benefits while managing costs effectively.”

The Direct Primary Care agreement highlights Riverview Health’s commitment to serving small businesses, which often face challenges in providing affordable and accessible healthcare to their employees. Direct Primary Care provides a cost-efficient option for businesses without comprehensive care, as well as those looking to enhance their existing benefits plans. By offering personalized care and eliminating the complexities of traditional insurance-based models, Riverview Health is empowering local businesses to prioritize the health and well-being of their employees.
