Riverview Health issues updated visitor restrictions

As flu season peaks and as a precaution against COVID-19 (also known as “coronavirus”), Riverview Health is taking added measures to protect patients, families, staff members and the community from unnecessary exposure to these viruses. Effective Saturday, March 14, Riverview Health is implementing these temporary visitation restrictions:

  • No visitors with influenza-like illness, fever or cough.
  • No visitors under the age of 16, unless special arrangements are made.
  • Only one visitor per patient at a time, and visitors may only be immediate family, partner or significant other.
  • Maternity patients are limited to only one identified support person and no other visitors, regardless of relationship.
  • No visitors entering the hospital just to use the cafeteria, purchase coffee, etc.

In addition to these visitor restrictions, Riverview Health is canceling all public seminars and support groups until further notice. As Riverview works to provide a safe environment for its patients, staff and community, Riverview apologizes for any inconvenience these visitation restrictions may cause. Riverview Health will continue to monitor conditions and remove the restrictions as soon as it is safe to do so.
