Riverview Health has installed 10 sunscreen stations throughout Grand Park Sports Campus, offering sun protection to its 1 million annual visitors from across the country.
“Riverview Health is a great partner with the city of Westfield,” says Mayor Andy Cook. “As Riverview embarks on completing its building on the corner of SR 32 and US 31, the city was honored that Riverview wanted to expand its partnership by offering free sunscreen to Grand Park visitors.”
“One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, which is an alarming statistic,” says Dr. Jeffrey Klak, family physician at Westfield Medical. “We always encourage the use of sunscreen when outdoors whether it’s cloudy or sunny. For young families on the go with kids, it’s an easy thing to forget. But for long-term skin health, it’s important to get in the habit of sunscreen application at a young age.”
The dispensers are located at the seven concession stands, the Grand Park Events Center and both sports administration buildings. Each dispenser contains BrightGuard sport sunscreen lotion SPF 30 that is specially formulated to withstand vigorous activities. It provides superior broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection that resists wear off from water, rubbing, sweat or wiping. Riverview will also provide the sunscreen refills throughout the year to ensure its availability to Grand Park visitors.
