Rita Gayle Keller

July 11, 1931 – February 24, 2020

Rita Gayle Keller passed peacefully after a short battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born the fourth child of eight and first daughter of Edford Olaf Chambers and Velvia Baldwin Chambers on July 11, 1931.

Rita was awarded an Art Education degree from Herron School of Art and was a lifetime art enthusiast, traveling to any city or country to see great art works by great artists. She practiced all mediums and especially enjoyed sculpture and photography. Rita enjoyed beach vacations at Jekyll Island with her family. She was not known for a green thumb, but she could name every shade and hue of green in the spectrum!

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Joe Keller; and her daughter, Gayle Holly Mastrogiacomo (Francis); her brothers, Edford Olaf Chambers Jr., Jesse Earl Chambers, Jacky Dean Chambers, and Franklin Leon Chambers; and a sister, Marilyn Kay Oaldon (Ron).

Rita is survived by her sisters, Joyce Ann Baker (Von David) and Etta Mae Peyton (Jack); her children, Bennie Joe Keller ll (Beverly), Franklin Dennis Keller (Connie) and Julia Leigh Keller Welter (Roger); her grandchildren, Courtney Kay Geuther (Matt), Shawnna Leigh Luke (Andrew), Lindsay Jo Keller Nichols (Dustin), Ashley Julia Thurston (Craig), Andre Francis Mastrogiacomo, Ian Joseph Mastrogiacomo and Leo Bennie Keller Welter; and eight great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 the First Presbyterian Church, 1207 Conner St., Noblesville, with the service at 11 a.m. Rita will be laid to rest at Washington Park Cemetery East next to her husband.

Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes has been entrusted with Rita’s care.
