‘Rise Up for Kids’ fundraiser set for April 24 in Carmel

The Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide (ICPYAS), formerly known as Chaucie’s Place, will hold its 14th annual Rise Up for Kids Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, April 24 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel.

This inspiring event brings together community leaders, educators, advocates, and supporters to raise awareness and funds for ICPYAS’s critical mission: ending child abuse and youth suicide through prevention education.

This year’s keynote speaker is Erin Merryn, a nationally recognized advocate and the driving force behind Erin’s Law, which mandates child sexual abuse prevention education in schools. Her powerful story of survival and advocacy has led to legislation in 38 states, protecting countless children from abuse. Her message of hope and action aligns with ICPYAS’s commitment to empowering communities through education and prevention.

“The Rise Up for Kids Breakfast is more than just a fundraiser – it’s an opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and take meaningful steps toward protecting children,” ICPYAS Executive Director Melissa Peregrin said. “We are honored to have Erin Merryn share her story, and we encourage everyone to attend and be part of this important movement.”

Attendance is free, but guests are encouraged to reserve seats in advance and consider making a donation or sponsoring a table to support ICPYAS’s programs. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals looking to make a lasting impact.
