The Carmel Professional Firefighters Local 4444 have endorsed Kevin “Woody” Rider for mayor.

After conducting a rigorous interview process with every candidate in the race for Carmel mayor, the firefighter members overwhelmingly voted 95 percent in favor of supporting Rider.

“Kevin ‘Woody’ Rider has been an unwavering supporter of public safety in Carmel as an At-Large City Councilor the last 16 years, and it only makes sense to support that commitment to ensure the public safety in our city continues to meet the high standard we have here in Carmel,” said JC Mitchell, president of the Carmel Professional Firefighters. “Rider rose to the top in this process for my members. He presented a genuine vision for the future of public safety in Carmel that continues to improve on the excellent service we provide currently under Mayor Brainard.”

Local 4444 represents the 172 men and women who serve the city. These firefighters and paramedics play a vital role in keeping Carmel one of the safest cities in the state and the nation.

The Carmel Professional Firefighters Local 4444 encourage residents to vote for Rider in the upcoming election on May 2 for a safe Carmel.
