Richard Albert Webb

Richard Albert Webb, 83, Atlanta, passed away peacefully at Riverview Hospital on December 3, 2022.

He was born December 18, 1938, in Indianapolis to Albert and Lola May (Stern) Webb. He attended Walnut Grove School in White River Township in Hamilton County and graduated from the school with the Class of 1957. Dick, as he was fondly known, then went to Pan American College in Texas on a basketball scholarship. He then furthered his education at Ball State University where he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.

Dick spent his entire career as an educator with the Crown Point School Corporation in Indiana as a high school teacher, coach, athletic director, and attendance director.

He married the love of his life, Frances Jean (Jeanie) Lively Webb, on September 3, 2011, and they enjoyed many happy years together. In retirement they spent time at a summer property in Wisconsin and enjoyed winters on Pine Island in Florida. His hobbies included golf, fishing, boating, gardening, fantasy football and even working in the yard. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his stepchildren and their children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Knapp.

Surviving him is his wife, Frances Jean Lively Webb of Atlanta; a brother, Donald Webb of Rensselaer, Ind.; four nieces and a nephew; stepchildren, Lanae Campbell of Atlanta, Kyle J. Lively of Tipton, Monte Lively and Lyndon Lively, both of Atlanta; 11 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Atlanta Christian Church, 200 E. Main St., Atlanta, with Pastor Jody Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of the service. His final resting place will be Carey Cemetery north of Noblesville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Atlanta Christian Church or Carey Cemetery. Donation envelopes will be available at the church.
