Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) responded to a residence fire on Coventry Way.
Responding units saw a column of smoke coming from the roof. Crews were able to quickly enter the structure and locate the fire in the attic of the home.
The fire was reported by a neighbor who saw the smoke coming from the home and rang the doorbell to wake the resident. They then called 911. The homeowner and her pet dog were able to safely evacuate the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
NFD was assisted by Cicero Fire Department and the Noblesville Police Department. NFD would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to check their smoke detectors, and sleep with your doors closed.
