Due to the predicted severe cold weather and snow accumulation, Republic Services will suspend trash and recycling services today, Friday, Dec. 23. This will delay Friday’s trash and recycling pick-up to the rescheduled date of Monday, Dec. 26.
Moving into next week, residents should plan to set out carts on their normal service day with the understanding there may be a one-day delay while Republic Services catches up on each route.
Hamilton County Emergency Management has issued a Winter Storm Warning, affecting portions of central Indiana, with extremely frigid temperatures. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of negative 5 degrees for Friday, with wind chill values exceeding 30 degrees below zero. These are dangerous conditions for Republic drivers and homeowners who will need to put trash and recycling out and retrieve carts.
Delaying service is not ideal, but when extreme weather causes unsafe conditions, this is the best course of action. Thank you for your patience.
