On Thursday, Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.-05) issued the following statement on the proposed FISA reauthorization bills:
“Although the Judiciary Committee bill is much better than the Intelligence Committee bill, at least requiring warrants for U.S. persons queries, both of them still fail to address two major risks of 4th Amendment rights violations: specifying independent audits of targeting procedures and scope of U.S persons collections, and requiring preventative system controls to document justifications and approvals for U.S. persons and batch queries.”
