State Rep. Tony Cook (R-Cicero) was recently re-appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Education Committee.
He was also named to the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee.
“Ensuring Hoosier students have access to the resources necessary to grow and thrive in their futures remains a top priority,” Cook said. “While Indiana is already a school safety leader, lawmakers will continue studying new measures in order to provide children with a safe place to learn. We will also be looking at additional ways to support the hundreds of committed educators throughout the state and drive more money directly into the classroom.”
Cook, a former school superintendent, has more than 40 years of experience in education.
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 3, 2019, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
