The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) is proud to announce Congresswoman Susan Brooks as one of its 2020 Legislative Champion for Maternal and Child Health Award winners. This award is given to recognize and celebrate the efforts of members of Congress and their staff who improve the lives and health of mothers, children and families, including those with special health care needs.
Brooks was selected for her efforts to elevate maternal and child health policy priorities, including her leadership to advance federal funding for maternal health programs, introducing the Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act, and ensuring that maternal and child health was a priority during reauthorization of the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act.
The 2020 Legislative Champion for Maternal and Child Health Award was presented virtually during AMCHP’s recent annual meeting during an event with over 2,000 viewers. AMCHP congratulates Brooks for accomplishments during a celebrated tenure representing Indiana’s 5th district and wishes her the best of luck in her retirement from Congress later this year.
