Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks congratulates Hamilton Southeastern High School student Bloem Marylou Montalvo, who was selected as a 2020-2021 recipient of the U.S. Department of State-sponsored Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) Scholarship.
“I want to congratulate Bloem for being awarded such an honorable scholarship,” Brooks said. “As a co-chair of the Congressional Study Group on Germany, I have had the honor of attending the Annual Congress-Bundestag Seminar conference, which brings together Members of the U.S. Congress with their counterparts in the German Bundestag for in-depth discussions about issues that affect the transatlantic relationship. I wish her the best of luck as she begins her journey and adventure in the beautiful country of Germany!”
Jointly funded and managed by the U.S. and German governments, the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) scholarship is for motivated high school students who want to fully immerse themselves in German culture by living with a host family and attending a local high school. No previous language experience is required.
Bloem Marylou Montalvo is one of 250 American high school students who will spend January 2021 to June 2021 on the CBYX program studying abroad in Germany while living with a German host family.
