Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-Ind.-05) provided the below statement following the 2020 State of the Union.

“President Trump delivered a strong State of the Union speech tonight. The President challenged Congress to continue working with him to deliver strong results for the American people and to create a country where people from every background and every walk of life can find new opportunities.
“President Trump highlighted some of the progress made in his first term including signing USMCA to benefit our country’s manufacturers, small businesses, and farmers, and securing the Phase One trade deal with China.
“I am especially encouraged by the President’s mention of lowering the cost of healthcare for American families while continuing to invest in life-saving medical innovation. I am also pleased President Trump mentioned the United States’ unwavering commitment to combatting the dangerous coronavirus outbreak and protecting the health of American citizens both in the United States and abroad.
“As 2020 progresses, I hope Congress can come together in a bipartisan way to tackle these critical issues and provide meaningful results for hard-working Americans.”
