Reader requests correction

Dear Editor:

There is a limited number of news sources for Hamilton County. Therefore, you have a responsibility to report facts accurately or label articles such as these as Opinion, not News.

It is unacceptable for a news article to state that a candidate is running with “little to no opposition” in the general election when another candidate is on the ballot.

If this statement was Mr. Swift’s personal opinion of the other candidate, your readers need to be aware of that.

Please publish a correction and be more responsible in the future. We are counting on you.

Editor’s Note: This letter refers to a May 9 article entitled “Interesting primary election results” in which Mr. Swift writes, “Like the others, Goodrich likely faces little to no opposition in November in an overwhelmingly Republican Hamilton County.” Tracy M. Roberts is the Democratic candidate for District 29.

Apparently “The Reporter” is unaware of the growth and strength of the Hamilton County Democratic Party. We are sick of the hatred and contempt dished out by smug Republicans over the years. The days of one party rule won’t last forever.
