Dear Editor:
I rarely come out and directly support anyone politically, and this race is not even in my district so I can’t vote, but I’d like to tell my Hamilton County friends about Mitch Russell, who is running for Sheriff.
First off, I know nothing about the other people running, but I’ve known Mitch and his wife Melanie for 25 years. She is one of our ER nurses, and I consider Mitch a great friend. Mitch simply is as good of a guy as you will ever meet. His credentials are impeccable, his character is unmatched. He solved one of the most brutal crimes ever in the history of Hamilton County, a triple homicide, and has been on the forefront of criminal justice in Hamilton County for years.
Simply put, he’s the kind of guy you want to arrest your own kid should the misstep in judgment arise and also the kind of guy you want when you yourself are a victim of crime. He will not quit on you should you find yourself in need. He’s just, fair, honest, even tempered, brilliant and highly respected in the criminal justice community.
I’ve been a member of the Marion County Crime Lab board of directors for years, and he is highly respected for his work and leadership in the law enforcement community. This is the guy you want to bust your kid’s party when you’re out of town. Please consider voting for my great friend.
