Dear Editor:
Regarding Adam Aasen’s letter to Mayor Brainard, I note with concern that the Carmel PD decided to conduct an investigation of this. I brought to its attention last year a tweet from then-candidate Bruce Kimball in spring 2015 stating “I know Justin, sa[w] him last night. Justin is holding back being political until he gets a TIF approved for midtown parking gar … ”. The Carmel PD essentially laughed at me when I suggested this was worth looking into further. Apparently, the Mayor’s trash is more important than Bruce’s treasure to the Carmel PD. I’d suggest the police are never political, but its union did issue endorsements in 2015, including for the Mayor.
