Carmel’s North Range Line Road improvement project saw big changes this week as construction crews are continuing to work on drainage structures in the roadway from 8th Street (Smoky Row Road) to the U.S. 31 overpass. The project has been delayed the last few weeks due to early onset of freezing temperatures and utility delays.
As of Wednesday, traffic is now flowing northbound only – just in time for early holiday shopping at Clay Terrace. This change will remain in place for as long as the weather permits construction to continue.
At some point over the next few weeks – unless there is a dramatic warming trend – the project is likely to come to a winter stopping point, at which time the road will return to a two-way traffic pattern throughout the rest of the winter months. Construction would then resume in early spring.
