R. Duane Monical, 96, Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Maple Park Village in Westfield. He was born on April 30, 1925 to William B. Monical Sr. and Mary E. (Lang) Monical in Brooklyn, Ind.
Duane proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked as a structural engineer and was a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers, the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers, and was past president of the American Consulting Engineers Council. Duane was a member of First Christian Church of Noblesville, the American Legion, Noblesville Lions Club, and Noblesville Masonic Lodge #57. He also volunteered at Riverview Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Monical; daughter, Mary Christine Monical; sons, Stuart Dean (Jeannette) Monical, and Dwight Lee (Teresa) Monical; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol A. Dean Monical; stepson, Jeffrey Eastwood; and his siblings, James Fredrick Monical, Alice Jeanne Brackney, and William B. Monical Jr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Burial will be at Monical Cemetery in Brooklyn, Ind.
