Purdue Extension on pins and needles over quilting

The Purdue Extension Service of Hamilton County will offer the annual sewing/quilting seminar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds Exhibition Center, 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville. The doors will open at 8:15 a.m.

A $17 registration fee includes a day of presentations and demonstrations, lunch, vendor displays and much more. Registration is open to any interested person. Participants must submit their registration form to the Purdue Extension Hamilton County Office no later than Friday, Oct. 18. Space is limited to the first 200 persons. Forms are available by visiting the Purdue Extension Hamilton County Office at 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville, or by visiting purdue.edu/extension/hamilton.

Guest speakers and topics will include Claudia Lash, “Machine Applique via Buttonhole Stitch”; Linda Hale, “Jelly Roll Rugs & Crazy Quilt Stitches”; Margaret Fette, “Sew Knits with Success”; Paul Gunn, “Sewing Machine Upkeep”; Cheryl Ross, “Use Your Stash – 3 Yard Quilts”; and Tipton Quilters Round Table, “Quilt Bed Turning.” Scissors and knife sharpening will be conducted throughout the day. Vendors will be available for shopping.
