Due to inclement weather on Thursday, the City of Carmel has postponed the unveiling of a new sculpture until Monday, Feb. 28.
The sculpture, titled “Waiting to Cross,” is from the J. Seward Johnson collection and is designed to diversify and expand the city’s collection of sculptures.
The unveiling is set for 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at Main Street and the Monon Greenway, just south of Main Street along the trail between Bazbeaux and Anthony’s Chophouse.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony and refreshments will be provided. Mayor Jim Brainard, members of the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Human Relations, members of the Carmel Public Art Advisory Committee and other city officials will be present.
The new sculpture was acquired from The Seward Johnson Atelier.
