In an effort to raise awareness against privatization of the United States Postal Service, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Branch #888 will demonstrate at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 23 in front of the Fishers Post Office, 8500 E. 116th St.

The message from postal workers is clear: “Hands off the Postal Service!”

“These local rallies nationwide will bring together NALC members and the public to show their support for letter carriers, all postal employees, and the Postal Service,” NALC President Brian L. Renfroe said. “At a crucial time, this is an opportunity to educate our customers about everything at stake if the Postal Service is privatized or restructured.”

Renfroe has challenged carriers to action. In Indiana, nine branches will participate on March 23 as well as in all 50 states. This represents 295,000 city letter carriers and the 340,000 rural, clerk, and mail handlers.
