The Carmel Christkindlmarkt opened on Nov. 19, and Market officials have planned a variety of special events to take place throughout the season.
Events will include special days to honor students, military members, German club members and more.

Along with special events, the market will welcome Markus Wagner, a woodworker from Germany’s world to famous woodworking community in Oberammergau. The Market will also welcome Joachim Seitfudem, who creates hand to carved nativity scenes and wooden figurative sculptures. Joachim’s father, Hans-Joachim, will join his son towards the end of the season to share their world to famous wood carving techniques with guests at the Market.
All woodworkers can be found in the new Werkstatt, or workshop, Hut No. 63. The demonstration dates and times can be found below:

- Sunday, Dec. 18, 6 to 6:45 p.m.: Menorah Aflame Hanukkah Service. Join the Carmel Jewish community for the lighting of a giant Menorah in celebration of Hanukkah.
- Friday, Dec. 23, 5 to 5:45 p.m.: Interfaith Alliance Gathering. A Gathering to Celebrate Christmas. Join for musical offerings, a brief meditation, and spiritual cheer for a sacred time.
