The Indiana Department of Transportation is closing a portion of Interstate 465 starting Friday, Aug. 9.
I-465 eastbound/northbound will be closed from I-65 to I-70 on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
All lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday for 15 days and will reopen Saturday, Aug. 24.
As part of the closure, Old U.S. 421 and the Shadeland collector lanes will be closed as well.
INDOT is encouraging drivers to plan ahead and find alternate routes during the closure. Be prepared for slow and stopped traffic and plan extra time.

Thru traffic can take I-70 eastbound through Indianapolis to get to I-465 northbound. I-74 eastbound traffic can take I-465 southbound to I-65 northbound to I-70 eastbound to get to I-465 northbound.
