Pedal Perks discount bike program returns for third year

Just in time to celebrate National Bike Month, Pedal Perks returns for its third year with even more businesses offering deals to bike riders. The goal of the program is to incentivize locals and visitors alike to explore Hamilton County via bike by offering special discounts at participating businesses.

“This is a fantastic way to get your family and friends outside and try a restaurant or activity and also save money,” said Hamilton County Tourism Communications Manager Whitney Riggs. “You’ll find some great offerings like free appetizers, drinks or discounted admission prices – you can’t beat that.”

Hamilton County Tourism created the promotion three years ago and now more than 30 businesses are participating. The program runs from May 1 through Oct. 31.

In order to take advantage of the Pedal Perks program, cyclists need to show proof of their ride by presenting their helmet at the business location or take a photo on their bike in front of the business.

No bike? No problem. Hamilton County has several Zagster bike share stations in Carmel, Westfield and Noblesville. The Zagster app is free to download, and the cost to rent is $3 per hour. There are also other rental options at Carmel Cyclery and e-bikes at Pedego in Carmel.
