The Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council is an initiative started in 2010 by Mayor Jim Brainard to empower youth in the community. The group consists of 20 to 35 high school students who wish to make a positive, tangible impact on the city during their time in high school.

The Carmel Clay Public Library Teen Council is an advisory board of students in grades 8-12 who meet monthly with the library’s Youth Adult Services staff to discuss books, movies and music and to give input on library issues related to teens.
