Paula J. Schnepp

June 15, 1954 – December 8, 2020

Paula J. Schnepp, 66, Carmel, passed away December 8, 2020 at McGivney Health Care Center in Carmel.

She was born June 15, 1954 in Indianapolis to Harley Robert and Mary Joan (Hartley) Schnepp. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Southport High School with the Class of 1972. She furthered her education at IUPUI.

She first went to work on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis. Tiring of that and being a trail blazer for women of her era, she joined the Carpenters Union and went to work doing heavy construction that included large and tall office buildings in Central Indiana. She then worked there and later became a co-manager of the New Orleans House, an elegant seafood restaurant in Indianapolis. She later owned and managed her own restaurant in Carmel. Lastly, she was the office manager for a medical office.

Her family roots were of farming background and she followed their lead by loving to be outdoors. She liked to walk, hike and ride horses. She also enjoyed boating and water skiing. In December she sold Christmas trees and in the fall she sold mums, pumpkins and bales of straw that she got at her families’ farms near Arcadia.

Paula was good-hearted and loved helping others. In working with people in the medical office she encouraged and worked with many to take needed supplements to improve their health. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed their gatherings at her sister’s home in Nashville, Ind.

Surviving her is a son, Mikhael James Pfister, Milwaukee, Wis.; daughter, Dr. Krystle (Dr. Gregory) Roberts, Indianapolis; brother, Matthew Kyle Schnepp, Indianapolis; sisters, Linda Kay Teal, Nashville, Ind., and Kathi Ann Piergies, Pepper Pike, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Joan (Hartley) Schnepp; and a brother, Guy Brian Schnepp.
