December 6, 1946 – April 12, 2018
Paul Eugene Edwards, 71, Sheridan, passed away Thursday morning, April 12, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Born December 6, 1946 in Annapolis, Md., he was the son of the late Charles S. and Wilhelmina (Flutka) Edwards.
Paul spent most of his working years in the grocery store business, starting out as a bagger and working his way through just about every position within the store. He would eventually take on the role of district manager for Albertson’s Inc. His territory stretched up and down the west coast from San Francisco, Calif., to Washington state. He worked for Albertson’s grocery, in some way, shape or form, from 1963 until his retirement in 2003. Paul liked going over to the Elks Club in Tipton, especially when they were playing Texas Holdem. He also liked to go deep sea fishing. Paul loved his family very much and his grandchildren became his whole world. He was their gentle giant.
He is survived by his daughter, Claudette L. Breen (Dennis), Sheridan; two grandchildren, Shelby Breen and John Breen, Sheridan; sister in law, Roberta Edwards of Banning, Calif.; and his canine best friend, his Black Lab, Dixie Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Karl Edwards; and by the love of his life, Gloria June “Dunie” (Brenton) Edwards on March 18, 2013. She and Paul were married on March 15, 2003.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, IN, with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor George Cooper will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.
