Jason Howard, 41, Fishers, was arrested and booked into the Hancock County Jail. Howard faces two Level 6 felony counts of possession of narcotics and two Class A misdemeanor counts of theft.

According to the Indiana State Police, the investigation began in May when the Greenwood Fire Department noticed several vials of Fentanyl had been tampered with. The investigation then extended into other counties including Hamilton County.

Howard worked as a paramedic for Seals Ambulance Service. Locally, Seals provides paramedics services to White River Township.

At least 34 vials of Fentanyl were allegedly taken from various fire departments. Investigators believe Howard would remove the Fentanyl from its vial and replace it with a saline solution.

Charges have not yet been filed in Hamilton County.
