Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a nonprofit accreditation organization with deeming authority from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), has awarded its inaugural Palliative Care Accreditation to Central Indiana-based Paradigm Health, a division of Paradigm Living Concepts. The three-year accreditation term acknowledges Paradigm’s commitment to quality patient care and excellent operations.
The rising number of patients with serious illness has generated significant need for quality palliative care, which helps both patients and their families cope with pain and better manage their conditions. ACHC’s Palliative Care Accreditation program has been developed to recognize organizations with robust, focused programs that address chronic symptom management and facilitate communication with other providers.
Paradigm Health launched in 2013 with a commitment to providing Central Indiana with premier home health, hospice and community-based palliative care through compassionate care and a holistic team approach. Locally owned and operated, Paradigm Health serves Central Indiana communities including Noblesville, Tipton, Muncie, Kokomo, and Indianapolis.
“Accreditation standards establish important benchmarks that help drive continuous organizational improvement, leading to better patient outcomes and ever-higher quality of care,” said Barbara Sylvester, ACHC Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality. “The dedicated team at Paradigm have demonstrated a commitment not only to home health and hospice care through previously awarded accreditation from ACHC, but can now further distinguish themselves with our first-ever accreditation for palliative care.”
“Achieving ACHC accreditation helps our care team better serve our patients and address their diverse needs. Paradigm Health is committed to doing everything in our power to deliver the quality and compassionate care people deserve,” said Jenna Grimes, Chief Compliance Officer for Paradigm Health. “Having gone through ACHC surveys for our hospice and home health offerings, we were excited to have third-party review and validation of our efforts to deliver quality community-based palliative care services to patients across Central Indiana.”
ACHC standards focus on industry best practices and are based on the National Consensus Project Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care.
